The contribution record
This website does not take contributions. Contributions go through the channel the committee’s own treasurer opens in the committee’s name. This page sets out the record that channel has to keep from January 1, 2027 — and why the check has to run before a gift is accepted rather than after.

Nothing on this page takes money or sends anything anywhere, and no real donor, real address or real amount appears on it. Contributions to a political committee are not tax deductible, and Oregon’s political contribution tax credit ended for tax years beginning on or after 1 January 2026.
What has to be recorded, and when
From January 1, 2027 a contribution to an Oregon political committee carries a limit, and a limit can only be enforced against a record that already exists. For every gift, the committee’s contribution channel has to capture, at the moment of giving:
- • Who gave — the contributor’s name.
- • Where they live — a full mailing address.
- • Occupation and employer — routinely asked of committees, so the conservative choice is to ask every time.
- • How much, and when — the amount and the date.
- • What that contributor has given so far this calendar year— the running total, which is the only thing that makes a limit checkable before the gift is accepted rather than after.
The limits that apply
- • Candidate committee — $3,300 per election.
- • Multicandidate PAC — $5,000 per calendar year.
- • Political party multicandidate PAC — $10,000 per calendar year.

What this replaces
The committee’s current site takes donations through a shop product titled “Please Donate in 10$ increments.” That records an order: an item, a quantity, a total. It does not record who the contributor is, where they live, or what they have given so far this year — so every dollar becomes reconciliation work for a volunteer, by hand, after the fact.
From January 1, 2027 that same reconciliation work has contribution limits attached to it. The fix is not a better spreadsheet at the end. It is capturing the right fields at the start.
