Consider Cause and Effect

October 13, 2026 · Baker County Republicans

Oregon news has been pretty negative over the past four years. The education of our children, the state government agencies preforming considerably below expectations, and the difficulties of multiple business sectors to initiate projects due to the crushing effects of state rules and regulations. Politicians are trying to influence the voters with a barrage of tweets and mailers as to who to blame for this continued slide of Oregon toward economic and educational low marks. The Kotek campaign for reelection points a finger that the federal government and Donald Trump as the cause of our problems. Are we the voters being asked to “look over there rather than here in Oregon” where the cause and solutions are found by a simple focus to the current government administration of Tina Kotek and the Oregon legislation being created by the Democratic Party controlled House and Senate?? It is so obvious that many states across the United States are thriving while the states of Oregon, California, and Washington continue to spend millions of our tax dollars to support the illegal immigration and the failing plan to institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) into American culture. Oregon health benefits and physician access have been reduced to Oregon’s historically registered citizens, sanctuary state status creates a financial flow of social benefits to illegal immigrants which is fiscally unsustainable without passing additional taxes , Oregon’s education system proficiency scores have cratered to the bottom (forty years ago our students ranged from one (1) to two (2) above the national average), crime has never been so prevalent from none documented citizens, and an untold level of spending occurs to fight the common sense attempts by the federal government program successes that have super charged the economies of most States. This Oregon election must lead to a better and brighter future for our state and the personal efforts to establish a balance for financial security and freedoms. A government that continually asks for tax increases is not effective leadership.

More money for Oregon’s current programs is not the answer. More government programs and employees are not the answers either. A complete reset of priorities should be seriously considered. Donald Trump is not on the ballot!! Christine Drazan is not too close to Donald Trump (as projected by the Kotek administration) and Christine Drazan is not responsible for Oregon’s current problems simply because she voted one way or another at the Oregon Legislature. Tina Kotek has been the Governor over the past four years and the buck stops with that person in charge. Vote for a change. Oregon can accomplish many successful goals but only if Cristine Drazan is given the opportunity through your optimism with a demand for a brighter future. Cast your ballots with enthusiasm and without hesitation on or before November 3 rd.
